A new climb we’re working on we deemed “The Teapot.” As you can see it isn’t too far off from our Abajo Mountain backyard. This climb has the view, the perfect approach, and a little variation to your typical climb.

Aid climbing, a.k.a. the dark arts, is a method used to attack a climb that may otherwise be impassable. Utilizing various “devices” (such as the ladder hanging from my waist) and the rock’s natural features to assist your climb. It’s called the dark arts for a reason, though “protection” is placed a lot of it is simply climbing with faith that your piece will hold. Our goal with Teapot was to make aid climbing a possibility for all; from those with skill to min skill; or those bad a’s to those with the dreaded sewing machine leg. Come join the dark side.
